Description
A formidable and epic piece inspired by characters for the old west, this Coltrane-esque minor tune opens with an introduction in 5/4 followed by a straight 8th groove that any band will enjoy. The piece climaxes with an incredible canonic “Horns alone” section eventually adding an indigenous-inspired drum accompaniment. There is plenty of space for blowing and some incredible interlocking parts throughout for the rhythm section and band. The version from Ryan Oliver with Strings closely resembles this big band arrangement. Inspire your group with a unique and challenging piece.
